The American Aviator Laureate Society (AALS) is a registered non-profit corporation committed to recognizing excellence in aviation while fostering opportunities for aspiring pilots who lack the financial means to pursue flight training. All proceeds collected from the administrative fees associated with certificate processing are directed toward the AALS Scholarship Fund, which is designed to support both local and international applicants of limited economic background. Each scholarship is projected to be capped at $10,000 USD per recipient, making a significant impact on a candidate’s ability to begin or continue professional pilot training.
The AALS scholarship program is built on a strictly merit-based selection process. Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) policies do not play a role in the evaluation—applicants are judged solely on their academic and aptitude merits. To qualify, candidates must demonstrate exceptional academic performance during their pre-training education, particularly in high school, and must pass an approved pilot aptitude test with a score of 90% or higher. The most promising applicants will be shortlisted for a personal interview, during which AALS evaluators will assess each candidate’s motivation, perseverance, and clarity of aviation career goals. The scholarship application process will officially open once the fund reaches operational readiness, with a public announcement issued by AALS to invite qualified candidates to apply.
